Born and raised in New England, a current resident in South County, Rhode Island, Captain Mark Phillips has over 32 years experience navigating the waters of Long Island Sound, Fishers Island, and Block Island Sound. He began his fishing experience as an 8 year old boy with his uncle off the coast of Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

Captain Mark is a retired U.S. Coast Guard boat operator and fisheries instructor with 22 years of honorable service where he conducted hundreds of search and rescue missions including a high risk search and rescue mission of a capsized boat near the Sugar Reef complex off Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Drawing on decades of local knowledge and experience in his local waters, Capt. Phillips located and retrieved three individuals out of the water and returned all three unharmed back safely to shore.

He is also a licensed Rhode Island Commercial Fisherman and holder of a 100 Ton Master’s License, FCC credentials, and CPR/First Aid training.

Captain Mark is an Orthodox Christian, a devoted husband and father of three, and an active youth football, basketball, and baseball coach. He is excited to share his love of the ocean, local knowledge, and passion for fishing with others out on the water.
